For my son's 14th birthday, he went on his first deer hunt. It was during a youth hunt weekend and on a friend's lease in East Texas. As a father, I wanted to teach my son that it takes patience and skill to hunt deer. Patience may include sitting all day without talking or moving waiting for an opportunity. So much for the lesson plan. My son shot this deer after sitting in our deer stand for only 10 MINUTES. He spotted this nice average East Texas Whitetail buck about 180 yards out and dropped him. A new definition of beginers luck.
