Dyslexia Hang Out
In all the places to travel on the internet, we've found a spot where we can visit and chat about dyslexia. Any of us who are interested in this learning situation can come on in to get acquainted. How about you all as parents of kids with dyslexia?... or those of us who teach dyslexics?... or even those who teach dyslexics in subject areas that are not really sure how that dyslexic student works? Let's get to know each other and talk through the myriads of aspects about what is happening and what we can do.
Some of my students are no longer in Texas where we have such amazing support, guidelines, training centers, and laws on how to address dyslexia. They and, especially their parents, feel isolated from others who really know or understand about dyslexia. There is one family who is a special group who comes to mind. They've been here in Texas then moved on to Missouri and are in that place of isolation!
I'm going to invite them to join me here at www.hoozdyslexia.com and let's get back together on the issues of concern. Sometimes, we may just need to have a good laugh over some of the things our kids do. It might be we've cried or become angry and need a sounding board.
It doesn't have to be long or complicated...it doesn't have to be academic in nature. Just come on in and hang out!
